Game Servers and NFTs?

You can call it GameFi, Play-to-Earn, or NFT gaming. A new breed of games is emerging, riding the wave of success that pioneer games like Axie Infinity created. Axie saw a rise in daily active users to nearly 2.3 million by the end of 2021. The Axie Infinity's AXS token experienced a dramatic increase in its market value, going from $0.57 per token one year ago to $97 at the writing date one year later. That's 170x growth in one year.

Axie is the most prominent NFT gaming market poster child, but there are many other games investors and gaming enthusiasts should be aware of. Anders Bjork (a Swedish YouTuber and NFT Gaming Expert) says these 13 NFT gaming projects on platforms such as Ethereum and WAX are worth following and will be available to play in the next year.

“I see fully functioning game economies in which people can make a living playing these games and have fun. We are closer to the reality of normal people being able to play games for a living. Anders Bjork believes that this will transform the world in ways no one could imagine.”

Bjork says that all the games on the following list were developed by teams that have a track record and/or a lot of experience in gaming. This list can be divided into three types of games: fully-playable, beta- and alpha releases, and upcoming.

Fully playable games

Blankos Block Party –

Blockchain: Native Mythical, bridge between Ethereum and Ethereum in Q1 2022

“Blankos is one the most well-built NFT games. It is fun, easy, and very entertaining to play. There are many fun game modes to choose from, and a well-equipped map builder. There are three main game modes: speed race, collect and PVP shooter.

Splinterlands – card game –

Blockchain: Hive + WAX

“Splinterlands was one of the first NFT games to be successful that began as steem-monsters. The game has been around for many years. With the launch of Lands, and the splinterlands token the game has taken off in the past few months. You can play it for free and find out what you think about it before you purchase any packs or cards.

Mir4 – MMORPG –

Blockchain Native

“Mir4 is an open-source, cross-platform MMORPG where NFT-based characters can be a reality. It looks exciting and fresh. The game is fun to play, and you can read and hear reviews. The game seems to have a lot of bots and the tokenomics at the moment are not balanced and pay-to win. It is one of my favorite games, and I added it to the list because it is visually stunning. Mir4 can be played on steam for free, so you can easily try it out and decide for yourself.

The Uplift World – Minecraft mod –

Blockchain: WAX

The Uplift World was a pioneer in NFT gaming. They created NFT accessibility from an already exciting platform. Why reinvent the wheel? Minecraft is a game that has stood the test of time.

You can purchase NFT Land Keys for The Uplift World. These keys give you full access to their Minecraft servers. There are a variety of servers available with different settings and rules to suit different types of players. You and the whitelist players who own a Land Key NFT are the only ones that can build on your land. This allows you to share your Minecraft dreams with other players in a large universe.

Releases of Alpha and Beta

The Sandbox – Metaverse –

“The Sandbox is probably one of the most important, if certainly the largest and most well-known metaverses in the cryptosphere. The Sandbox allows landowners to create their own game, and other players can join it. We don't know what many of the projects that purchase land in The Sandbox will do with it.

“Surely Sandbox has a bright future with as many stakeholders and as many participants as it currently has. Sandbox is home to many big companies, projects, and celebrities, including Binance, Atari and Animoca.

Phantom Galaxies – open world shooter –

Blockchain: Multi-chain/Polygon

“I haven't yet tried this game, but it looks very promising. The rating is solely based upon my research on the game.

“Phantom Galaxies” is an open-world shooter that takes place in a space environment. You control your mech character through a third-party view. Although I'm not a fan of arial shooter video games, this game looks very exciting. I will definitely test it once it is live. Take a look at the trailer to see for yourself.

22 Racing Series – racing game –

Blockchain: Phantasma

“The 22 Racing Series reminds me a lot about TrackMania nation. Although the speed and control are amazing, 22 Racing Series' map layout is unique and incredible. They use the Phantasma blockchain to enable them to do some amazing things with their NFTs.

Each car in the 22 Racing Series is unique. Each part of the car can be taken apart and customized to your liking, or you could sell it to another player.

Metropolis Origins – card game –

Blockchain: WAX

“Metropolis Origins was built by a talented, experienced team of game developers. They have a playable alpha version available on their website. It was just launched. The cards can be played on the WAX Blockchain. It's definitely worth trying it out.”

Million on Mars: Land Rush – Mars virtual world –

Blockchain: WAX

Million on Mars is made up of tons experience in the gaming sector and will likely create and deliver one the best casual games using NFTs. Their alpha release is not yet available. There are still some features that need to be added, such as multiple NFTs being sent simultaneously to the world. You can currently get NFT land and pick a place on Mars to build your base. You can explore the globe, make your own coffee and collect game resources.

Clashdome Citizens –

Blockchain: WAX

Clashdome Citizens was founded by a small Barcelona game studio. It is a platform that offers casual web-based games. The team has created a variety of casual Play-to Earn games that anyone can play over the past year. They have just released the beta version of Clashdome Citizens which is a Play-to-Earn platform game that ties everything together. You can breed your NFT citizens to increase your chances of earning more tokens in the game, duel other gamers, and so much more.

Alien Worlds – metaverse –

Blockchain: WAX

“Alien Worlds” is the largest Play-to-Earn game currently in existence. There have been hundreds of thousands of accounts so far. What most people don't know is that the current game state, the mining aspect of Alien Worlds, is only the first step on the roadmap. It is an economic layer that distributes the TLM token to people and gets them into the metaverse. The Alien World council, which has one DAO per planet, will soon launch. It will have a tremendous ability to influence the Alien World metaverse.”

Upcoming games

The Forge Arena –

Blockchain: WAX

“The Forge Arena looks the most exciting NFT game I have ever seen. This game feels like a match between Counter Strike and Quake. According to the developers, they were inspired by Halo and CSGO.

Warsaken – card game –

Blockchain: WAX

“Warsaken” is a card game of a new type that will be available in both digital and physical formats. The NFT art is of high quality, and the team seems passionate about their project. You can view a gameplay video between one member of the team and his son on their Youtube channel. They are currently selling their NFTs to the game so you can have enough to make a deck for their digital version.
